Brand element guidelines
If you are a current Sunflower business member, have an existing partnership with us, or you’ve received permission to use our logo, symbol, icons, illustrations, photographs, videos, designs or other trademarks, follow these guidelines.
Please share any content that mentions Hidden Disabilities Sunflower with us before you publish by sending it to the Marketing team for review.
Sunflower logo
Our logo comprises two key elements: the symbol and the logotype. These components work together to ensure maximum recognisability across various sizes and contexts.
Use the appropriate colour
We recommend using our full-colour logo on a white background. When facing limitations, you may opt for the reversed Sunflower logo.
Don’t modify the logo
Don’t modify or distort the logo, change colours, or add additional elements.
Adhere to proper clear space (the space around the logo)
The clear space around our logo should be equal to or greater than the width of the Sunflower block in the logotype.
Don’t overcrowd the logo
Don’t crowd the logo with images, text, or other graphics that compromise its impact.
Keep a clear hierarchy
Use the Sunflower logo as a supporting element in a context that clearly describes the role of Hidden Disabilities Sunflower.
Don’t overstate the Sunflower's role
Don’t use the logo as the most prominent element or in a way that implies affiliation or endorsement.
Sunflower symbols
Often, the Sunflower symbols are used when it is not possible or practical to display the primary Sunflower logo. We have two versions of the Sunflower symbol: one for individuals with non-visible disabilities and one for Sunflower allies.
For individuals with non-visible disabilities
The green Sunflower symbol consists of a yellow sunflower in a green circle.
It indicates that the individual wearing it has a non-visible disability, condition, or chronic illness and may need additional support, understanding or simply more time.
This symbol is not just a logo or decoration—it holds significant meaning and purpose. The Sunflower represents individuals with invisible disabilities and helps them feel seen and understood in the world.
Sunflower allies
The Sunflower ally symbol consists of the green Sunflower symbol accompanied by the text '....support the Sunflower'. It is used to help raise awareness about non-visible disabilities by:
- Sunflower Business Members to show their membership of the global Sunflower network and their commitment to accessibility and inclusion
- Individuals to signify that they understand the Sunflower's purpose and show their support to those with invisible disabilities.
By displaying this symbol on their website, business profiles, messaging apps such as Teams or Zoom, email signatures, and physical spaces, Sunflower Business Members raise awareness and foster a sense of community among those with invisible disabilities.
Don’t modify the symbols
Don’t modify or distort the Sunflower symbols, change colours, or add additional elements.
Don’t use the Sunflower as decoration
Never remove the Sunflower from the green background. It should always be displayed on a green background to maintain its integrity, impact and be easily recognised.
Adhere to proper clear space
The clear space around our symbol should be equal to or greater than a quarter of the width of the Sunflower symbol used.
Keep a clear hierarchy
Use the Sunflower symbols as a supporting element in a context that clearly describes the role of the Sunflower.
Sunflower brand colours
You may not use the Sunflower brand colours in your own materials outside of approved logos, symbols, icons, or badges without prior approval.

Sunflower typography
MUSEO SANS is a critical element of our brand. It works to maintain consistency and create clarity, and provide equity to the brand as a global leader in empowering people to signify that they have an invisible disability.
It is a sturdy, low contrast, geometric, highly legible sans serif typeface
Headings and text styles
It is important to maintain these type pairings. This allows for clarity, consistency, and a strong communication hierarchy. Museo Sans 700 should be paired with Museo Sans 300. Use Museo Sans 900 where needed.
