Moto, the UK's largest motorway service, has joined the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower network to support motorists and their families who take a break at their services. Moto teams and retailers have received Hidden Disabilities Sunflower training to recognise and support Sunflower wearers. There are over 11 million disabled people in the UK, and car travel is essential to access hospital appointments, leisure breaks, work, and so much more. The Sunflower removes a barrier to travel and helps make Moto accessible to its visitors and staff who have invisible disabilities.
Moto is committed to ensuring that it helps raise awareness of the Sunflower among all its visitors so that they can also be kind and understanding to Sunflower wearers.
Ken McMeikan, Moto Hospitality Chief Executive Officer, said:
“I am thrilled to announce a significant milestone for Moto, as we are officially live in supporting Hidden Disabilities Sunflower.
We are so proud to support the Sunflower as this aligns perfectly with our commitment to creating a more inclusive workplace for our colleagues and customers. By proudly displaying the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower we are sending a clear message that we value and support individuals with invisible disabilities and that our spaces are welcoming and accessible to all.
As we embark on this journey let’s continue to foster an environment of understanding empathy and support for our colleagues and customers, and welcome a future where everyone feels seen, heard and included as we continue our journey to help invisible disabilities become visible.“
