Enhancing support for individuals with non-apparent disabilities
We're delighted that Worcester Regional Airport has joined the Sunflower program, a global program that supports individuals with non-apparent disabilities, conditions, and neurodivergence. This reinforces the airport's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility for all passengers.
Non-apparent disabilities, such as autism, chronic pain, or mental health conditions, are not always immediately apparent. The Sunflower lanyard lets people voluntarily and discreetly indicate they may need extra assistance, understanding, patience, or space. This tool empowers individuals to navigate the airport with greater confidence and comfort while informing staff and fellow passengers that additional support may be appreciated.
