About this experience

From 10.00am to 12.00pm on the last Sunday of each month join us for ‘Relaxed Time’.

In this time the National Trust at Sutton Hoo will be offering a quieter experience to help visitors who feel the need for a more relaxed space including visitors living with dementia, autism or anxiety. The aim, however, is to still give a great experience of visiting Sutton Hoo as we work towards becoming a dementia friendly site.

In this time period Sutton Hoo will be introducing additional clear and concise signage across the property. All hand dryers will be switched off with paper towels available to use instead. The National Trust will have dedicated volunteers on hand to help those that would like extra assistance. Our volunteer teams in Tranmer House and the High Hall Exhibition will also be more aware of areas that some visitors may find confusing, for example in spaces where there are audio visual items playing.

If you would like to escape the hustle and bustle of the café there will be seating available in the Court. This is also an ideal spot to sit and relax for a few moments.

Please note

The estate walks are open on weekdays with a car parking machine in operation. If you are a National Trust member you can scan your card for free parking. The High Hall exhibition, Tranmer House, shop, cafe and bookshop are open at weekends only until 26 March.
