the Tesco Ireland logo

We are really pleased to share that Tesco Ireland will continue to recognise the Sunflower and are replenishing stocks of Sunflower lanyards across all stores in Ireland in advance of the Holiday Season. This means that Sunflower lanyards will be available for collection free of charge at Customer Service Desks in Irish stores (one per customer) during the first week of December. We know that many Sunflower wearers in Ireland originally learned about the Sunflower from the team at Tesco Ireland over the past few years, and are very grateful for Tesco Ireland’s continued recognition of the Sunflower and support it provides for wearers.

Over the past few months the Sunflower team in Ireland has been working with Triple A Alliance and Wicklow County Council to deliver a package of training, recognition and awareness of the Sunflower across County Wicklow. Funding has now been provided for Sunflower lanyards and silicone wristbands to be available to anyone with a non-visible disability at Wicklow County Council offices, public buildings and libraries across the County. The Sunflower launch is planned for early December.

Scott and Maggie attended the Mid-West Social Enterprise Network Event in Newport, Co. Tipperary on 20 October. They exhibited a stand with lots of Sunflower merchandise and information and were able to meet with new and existing social enterprises across the mid-west about the need to recognise the Sunflower. We hope to see more organisations across County Tipperary joining the Sunflower as a result of this event.

Tristan, Scott and Maggie would like to wish all of the Sunflower wearers and families/carers a wonderful, peaceful holiday season, and a very happy new year! We look forward to 2023 and increasing awareness of the Sunflower across Ireland so that we can help to better support people living with non-visible disabilities.
