We're thrilled to announce that Hobart airport joined the Sunflower during August. For passengers with an invisible disability, wearing a Sunflower lanyard at Hobart Airport indicates to airport staff that you may need additional support or a little more time to complete your journey through the airport.
Airport staff may ask how they can assist you. You, or your carer, might like to use your lanyard to help explain any additional support you require.
If you are feeling overwhelmed during any stage of the airport process, please approach an airport staff member for assistance and they can slow down the process, help you find a quiet part of the terminal, or offer assurance to help make the journey to your flight, as comfortable as possible.
If you, or someone you know, would benefit from wearing a Sunflower lanyard at Hobart airport, please complete this form on their website at least seven days prior to your travel date and they will reserve a lanyard for you.
Is your organisation a member of the Sunflower network?
Is your place of work Sunflower friendly? If not, why not suggest they look into becoming members of the Sunflower? We provide training and assistance to help businesses recognise the Sunflower to support individuals with non-visible disabilities and become confident in providing them with additional help or assistance.
Join an impressive network of organisations so our Sunflower wearers can find you as they plan their days out:
- add your location to the Sunflower location map
- provide details useful for Sunflower-friendly visits
- demonstrate how accessible you are
- tell your story through articles
- and even reveal your Sunflower-friendly events
