CONMEBOL and Sunflower join forces to promote inclusion in the 2025
The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) announces its new strategic membership of the global initiative Hidden Disabilities Sunflower to raise awareness and provide support for people with invisible disabilities during its main continental finals.
As part of this collaboration, Sunflower lanyards will be distributed at the CONMEBOL Sudamericana Final in Paraguay and the CONMEBOL Libertadores Final in Peru, demonstrating CONMEBOL's strong commitment to accessibility and inclusion in South American football.
Sunflower lanyards allow people with non-visible disabilities—such as autism, mental health conditions, learning disabilities, epilepsy, or hearing or vision loss, among others—to signal that they may require additional support or understanding discreetly. The Sunflower program allows the wearer to self-identify as having a non-visible disability and may need more time, help, or support.
With this action, CONMEBOL reinforces its purpose of making stadiums safer, more inclusive and spectator-sensitive spaces, ensuring that all fans can enjoy football on equal terms.
