Audit Wales is proud to announce that it has joined the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower
The Sunflower is a globally recognised initiative that supports individuals with non-visible disabilities. The membership marks a significant step in its commitment to being a model organisation, fostering inclusivity and ensuring that everyone—regardless of their disability—is recognised, understood, and supported.
Hidden Disabilities Sunflower was established to support individuals with conditions that may not be immediately visible, such as autism, chronic illnesses, sensory impairments, and mental health challenges. The Sunflower symbol provides a discreet way for individuals to signal that they may need additional assistance, patience, or understanding in public spaces and workplaces. This includes their employees and stakeholders.
Through Audit Wales' membership, it will actively integrate the Sunflower initiative into everyday life, ensuring that employees are educated about non-visible disabilities and that anyone working for, with or visiting our workplaces will be welcomed and supported in a way that helps them be their best.
Audit Wales's participation in the Sunflower program and dedication to making Sunflower-friendly spaces that are welcoming and accessible to all builds upon its belief that everyone benefits from a neuro-inclusive workplace.
Adrian Crompton, Auditor General, said:
