AI & authenticity
Responsible use of AI
The Sunflower exists because of real people and their real experiences. AI can help us create and adapt content, but it should never replace or misrepresent the people, experiences and products at the heart of the Sunflower.
Keep it authentic
When representing the Sunflower:
- Use real people to represent Sunflower wearers and lived experiences
- Use genuine Sunflower lanyards, cards, badges and other products
- Don’t use AI-generated people to represent Sunflower wearers or disabled people
- Don’t invent testimonials or present fictional experiences as genuine
- Don’t use AI to generate or recreate Sunflower products, or digitally add them to people in a way that could be mistaken for genuine use
Approved Sunflower brand assets can still be used within designed communications in line with our brand guidelines.
Using AI responsibly
AI can be used to support:
- translation and language adaptation
- captions and accessibility
- voiceovers
- editing and content production
- drafting and improving written content
AI-assisted content must always be reviewed by a person before it is published.
Keep it accurate
AI must not be used to invent or misrepresent:
- what the Sunflower means
- who can use it
- rights or benefits
- priority access
- eligibility requirements
- legal claims
- support or services available
Facts should always be checked, and anyone quoted should review and approve the words attributed to them.
Be transparent
Follow any relevant legal requirements and the rules of the platform or channel where your content will appear when using AI-generated or manipulated content.
Our approach may go further than these requirements because authenticity, dignity and trust are central to how the Sunflower is represented.
Usage tips
If you are creating content featuring the Sunflower outside our approved materials, or are unsure whether a proposed use of AI is appropriate, please send it to marketing@hdsunflower.com for review before publishing.
