The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program welcomes Siemens Energy as an official member in the UAE. As a global leader in energy technology, Siemens Energy joins the program to reinforce its commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for people of determination.
The Sunflower program, launched in the UAE in 2022, is an internationally recognized initiative that enables individuals with non-visible disabilities—such as autism, anxiety, hearing loss, or chronic illness—to discreetly signal their need for understanding and support. By wearing a Sunflower lanyard, individuals can access more empathetic service and increased awareness in public and corporate spaces.
Florian Koemm, Chair of Siemens Energy’s Disability & Allies Network, said:
“At Siemens Energy, creating a safe and supportive environment for all our colleagues is a top priority. Disability inclusion plays a key role in that. By joining the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program, we are encouraging everyone to speak openly about the accommodations they need to thrive. This is an important step toward building a truly inclusive workplace where everyone feels they belong and can succeed.”
Andy Faulkner, CEO of Topland, exclusive partner of Hidden Disabilities Sunflower in the Middle East, said:
“We are excited Siemens Energy in the UAE has joined the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program. Siemens Energy’s partnership signifies a momentous step for businesses and organisations to bring awareness, recognise the varied needs of both customers and employees, and encourage adequate training to be even better equipped to support those who may need extra help.”
This initiative reflects Siemens Energy’s broader commitment to accessibility, employee well-being, and social responsibility.
The Sunflower lanyards are produced locally by People of Determination through a collaboration with the Zayed Higher Organization (ZHO), creating not only awareness but also meaningful employment opportunities.
