Connect Conference Centre and Nexus, managed by ASM Global and located in Expo City Dubai, are proud to announce their participation in the global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program. This initiative marks a significant step toward promoting inclusivity across the region.

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program allows individuals with non-visible disabilities to discreetly indicate that they may need support. By implementing this program, Connect Conference Centre and Nexus aim to create a more comfortable and stress-free experience for all guests.

Through this initiative, the two venues are not only expanding their commitment to inclusivity but also enhancing the overall guest journey. Staff members across both locations have undergone specialized training to recognize the Sunflower symbol and provide tailored support where needed, whether that involves offering more time for check-in processes, providing additional guidance, or making subtle adjustments to meet specific needs. The program ensures that guests with hidden disabilities can navigate both venues confidently, knowing they will be met with understanding.

Andy Faulkner, CEO of Topland, exclusive partner of Hidden Disabilities Sunflower in the Middle East was delighted to welcome Connect Conference Centre and Nexus to Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program in the Middle East:

"Accessibility and inclusion in the events sector is essential for the destination to be welcoming and supportive to all visitors regardless of their ability. We are thrilled that Connect Conference Centre is adopting the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower to provide support and confidence to its visitors and delegates with invisible disabilities.”
He added: “Sunflower lanyard is a simple tool for people to voluntarily share that they have a non-visible condition and at some point they might need help, understanding or more time. In a truly unique way this is the only region to locally produce Sunflower lanyards employing People of Determination within Zayed Higher Organization in Abu Dhabi.”

Tamer El Mogy, General Manager of Connect Conference Centre, emphasized the venues’ dedication to inclusivity:

“We are dedicated to ensuring that every guest feels valued and supported at our venues, The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program is a key part of our efforts to create an inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy a seamless experience.”
