The Growth Company is proud to announce its membership in Hidden Disabilities Sunflower
This membership reinforces our ongoing commitment as a Disability Confident Leader and strengthens our efforts to make sure everyone we interact with, including our colleagues, clients, learners, and suppliers, feels valued, seen, and understood.
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a globally recognised symbol that discreetly indicates that someone has a non-visible disability and may require additional time, patience or support.
By joining the Sunflower, The Growth Company is taking another meaningful step towards creating an environment where accessibility, empathy and understanding are at the heart of every interaction.
This forms an important part of their ongoing work to raise awareness of different health conditions and disabilities within our organisation and to encourage open conversations about physical and mental wellbeing in the workplace.
Chris Jones, Executive Director - Centre for Assessment and SMT Sponsor for our Health and Wellbeing EDI Network, said:
“At GC, we understand the importance of raising awareness of different health conditions and disabilities, including those that aren’t visible. Joining the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower reflects our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, respected and supported.
“We want our colleagues and everyone we work with to feel comfortable talking openly about their health and wellbeing, and the Sunflower will help us continue to build a culture of understanding and inclusion.”
Paul White, CEO of Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, said:
“Creating a sense of belonging and purpose is achieved with appropriate education with a view to gaining employment opportunities. The Growth Company is setting a high standard of practice by adopting the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower as part of its Disability Confident status. Their membership signals that everyone will be supported to achieve their full potential, regardless of whether they have a disability or not.”
Through the Sunflower membership, The Growth Company continues its journey towards a workplace and organisational culture where people with non-visible disabilities feel seen, supported and empowered, and inclusion remains at the centre of everything we do.
