At NNE, we are dedicated to supporting employees with hidden disabilities through a range of important initiatives. We are happy to collaborate with the Hidden Disabilities organisation, known for their Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, as this simple yet powerful symbol allows individuals with hidden disabilities to signal that they may need extra support, understanding or time in various settings such as their workplaces.
”It's inspiring to see how the use of sunflower lanyards is growing. These lanyards, which symbolise invisible disabilities, have not only increased awareness but also play a role in maturing us as an organisation.
When employees and visitors wear sunflower lanyards, it sends a powerful message that we all have different needs and that it's important to be mindful and supportive of one another. This simple act has created a deeper understanding and a more inclusive atmosphere where everyone can feel seen and valued.
It's heartwarming to witness how a small gesture can have such a significant impact on our daily interactions and work environment.”
– Signe Pickardt, Senior HR Consultant and DEI Lead at Novo Nordisk Engineering.
How NNE Supports
As part of our dedication to supporting our employees with hidden disabilities, we offer:
- Sunflower Lanyards: Available at the reception, these lanyards help discreetly indicate that an individual may need additional support or understanding.
- Information Cards: Lanyard information cards are placed around the offices to educate employees about the purpose of the sunflower lanyards and how they can assist colleagues who wear them.
- Support stickers and pins: Available at the reception, these stickers and pins are used to show support for employees with hidden disabilities.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
These initiatives aim to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone at NNE. This partnership is part of our ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace for all employees. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued and understood, regardless of whether their disabilities are visible or not.
