We are really pleased to be working with SOUND (Sufferers Of Unique Narcolepsy Disorder), a national charity in Ireland that exists to support people who have a diagnosis of Narcolepsy and Cataplexy after receiving the 2009/10 H1N1 Swine Flu vaccine Pandemrix.
The support group and registered charity continues to be run by a small voluntary team of parents of children with Narcolepsy and young adults with Narcolepsy. SOUND provide support to parents of children that have been affected by Narcolepsy following the Pandemrix vaccine. They facilitate meetings between families, enabling them to share information and provide peer support. And continue to lobby the Government, requesting that more is done to support those affected with Narcolepsy as a result of the vaccine Pandemrix.
We have recently worked with the SOUND Committee to produce a bespoke Sunflower card with their logo on. The Committee were able to provide the wording that they felt was most effective to allow the right support to be given.
