Through this collaboration, Snowball will incorporate the widely recognised Sunflower icon into its app. This new feature will enable users to easily identify Sunflower-friendly locations, . The Sunflower is a simple tool for individuals to voluntarily share that they have a disability or condition that may not be immediately apparent – and that they may need a helping hand, understanding, or more time in shops, at work, on transport, or in public spaces. Each Member of the global Sunflower network trains its employees to understand the purpose of the Sunflower, increase their awareness of non-visible disabilities and how to offer to individuals wearing the Sunflower.

Founded by wheelchair user Simon Sansome, Snowball is a mobile app dedicated to improving accessibility for disabled individuals.

About Simon Sansome
Following a life-changing injury at the age of 32 in 2014, which resulted in partial paralysis from the waist down, Simon Sansome took early retirement due to ill health and returned to university to study journalism, pursuing a passion for writing.
In 2016, Simon launched a Facebook page called Ability Access, now called the Snowball Community, which has grown into the most-read disability page in the world. It can reach over 30 million people a month and has amassed over 100,000 social media followers.
In 2022, Simon launched the Snowball Community App, a TripAdvisor-like platform for the disabled community. It allows users to review and rate places for accessibility, with thousands of reviews already submitted.
