Disability is more widespread than often assumed: around 1.3 billion people worldwide are affected. In Europe, 1 in 6 people live with a disability, and nearly 80% of disabilities are not visible. Yet disability is still too often represented by a single image: the wheelchair symbol on a blue background. The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower exists precisely for those the symbol does not represent. Launched in 2016, the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower provides individuals with a discreet and dignified way to indicate that they may need additional support, understanding, or simply more time — without having to explain their condition. The initiative has since been adopted worldwide across sectors including transport, retail, healthcare, education, and events, with more than 300 airports participating globally.
Today, Paperjam is proud to join the initiative in partnership with Real Impact Hub, the official Hidden Disabilities Sunflower representative in Luxembourg. Through this collaboration, the Club reinforces its commitment to creating more inclusive, respectful, and welcoming experiences for all members, guests, and partners. The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower initiative was officially launched during the latest edition of Paperjam 10x6 – Business Forward: National Champions, marking the beginning of a long-term commitment by Paperjam to foster more inclusive and considerate experiences. The initiative will progressively be integrated across future Paperjam events, reinforcing the organisation's ambition to ensure that every member and guest feels welcomed, understood, and respected.
