Metro Bank is delighted to announce that it's a proud member of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower.

Up to 80% of disabilities in the UK are non-visible, and Metro Bank strives to be the best community bank on the high street. Therefore, it’s important to understand the needs of those with invisible disabilities and how best to support them. Working with the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower team and utilising the resources provided will make a significant impact in understanding and responding to colleagues and customers who have invisible disabilities with a gesture of support, extra time and understanding.

By joining the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower network, Metro Bank is committed to providing a space for those who wear the Sunflower in which they feel comfortable and supported whenever they need to access the bank. Metro Bank employees who wear the Sunflower lanyard can be confident in knowing that the Bank is a supporter of the Sunflower and recognises that they have a non-visible disability or condition, creating an inclusive environment for all colleagues to work in.

Chris Fisher, Head of Customer Relations of Metro Bank said:

“At Metro Bank, we aim to be the best community bank on the high street, and we pride ourselves on being a people-people bank. To achieve this, we do what we can to make banking easier for our customers and joining the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower makes sure that we are doing the right thing to support customers with non-visible disabilities. Colleagues who wear the Sunflower will be able to do so knowing that we are a supporter and recognise that they have a non-visible disability or condition. This will create an inclusive environment for all colleagues to work in.”

Paul White, CEO of Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, said:

“We are thrilled that Metro Bank has become a member of Hidden Disabilities Sunflower. They are committed to ensuring that their community approach supports everyone, including their colleagues. The Sunflower training fosters a supportive, inclusive environment for the staff and deploys accessibility to services for customers.”
