As part of ISS World's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, and to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities they announce the launch of its membership of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower.

Globally, 1.3 billion, or 1 in 6 people live with a disability - that’s 16% of the worlds population.

Originating in 2016 at Gatwick Airport, the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower allows someone to voluntarily share that they have a disability or condition that may not be immediately apparent – and that they may need additional support, understanding, or more time at work, in shops, on transport, or in public spaces.

To help meet ISS Social Value ambitions of becoming the global Company of Belonging, its Corporate membership with the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower enables them to further support colleagues, clients and visitors, whilst raising awareness through regular training on the Sunflower and other disability-related topics.

On their Sunflower launch day, representatives from Abilities@ISS Employee Resource Group were on hand to raise awareness of the initiative, answer any questions, and, most importantly, making Sunflower merchandise (including lanyards, wristbands, and pin badges) available for their colleagues to wear themselves or to take home for their loved ones.

"By introducing the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower to ISS, we’re aiming to foster a workplace where everyone feels empowered, valued and supported.
This is more than a symbol – it’s a step toward greater awareness and inclusion, encouraging us all to see and support one another with making the invisible, visible."
