Essentra PLC, a leading provider of essential components and solutions, is pleased to announce it has joined the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower network, with future plans to roll out across its global footprint, helping to raise awareness and increase visibility for those living with invisible disabilities.
An extension of Essentra’s existing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) programme, this internationally recognised initiative is designed to foster an environment of inclusivity, acceptance and understanding, aiming to significantly improve the day-to-day experiences of individuals with invisible disabilities in the workplace.
Essentra will be sharing resources, including videos and guides, with its employees around the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower. These materials are designed to equip staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to better understand non-visible disabilities, offer appropriate assistance and cultivate a supportive and inclusive work environment.
Emma Reid, Essentra PLC Company Secretary and the initiative’s sponsor says the firm continues to champion equality and celebrate diversity:
“This new initiative is an important part of a series of campaigns within Essentra that will continue to help us achieve our DE&I goals which include celebrating Pride, Black History Month, International Women’s Day and International Men’s Day.”
“Over the next 12 months we will continue to widen our DE&I campaigns to complement and support our ESG strategy and ensure we attract, recruit, train and retain diverse talent across our business.”
Paul White, CEO, for the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, says he is delighted to welcome Essentra to the programme:
“Embedding the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower into its business demonstrates that disability inclusion is at the forefront of Essentra’s employment practices. The Sunflower acts as a simple and effective tool to begin important discussions in the workplace to ensure that everyone is heard and included, and importantly supported."
