Collarts has joined Hidden Disabilities Sunflower promoting inclusivity, acceptance, and understanding for all individuals living with non-visible disabilities. Education institutes can be complex environments posing a variety of challenges for many people with disabilities who attend.
Collarts launched their support for the Program this week with a presentation to staff by Sandee Facy, Hidden Disabilities Sunflower advocate. Collarts has committed to continuing the diversity and inclusion journey by ensuring that the campus is Sunflower-Friendly.
Students and faculty can now request free sunflower products to signal that they have a non-obvious disability and may require assistance, support or simply patience, without having to disclose any personal information.
