Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is delighted to welcome FIFA Fan Festival Vancouver to the global Sunflower network, helping to support guests with non-apparent disabilities and conditions during this year's Festival.
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a globally recognized symbol that allows people with non-apparent disabilities, conditions, and chronic illnesses to voluntarily share that they may need additional support, understanding, or time. By wearing a Sunflower lanyard, wristband, or other Sunflower identifier, individuals can discreetly indicate that they may need a little extra assistance while navigating public spaces and busy environments.
The launch forms part of FIFA Fan Festival Vancouver's commitment to creating a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive experience for all guests attending the Festival.
Sunflower support wristbands available at the Festival
Guests can collect a Sunflower support wristband at the Family Hub and Info Booths during Festival operating hours, while supplies last. Guests may also wear their own Sunflower lanyard, wristband, or other Sunflower identifier while attending the Festival.
What is the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower?
The Sunflower is recognized globally across transportation, tourism, retail, healthcare, education, workplaces, entertainment venues, and major events, helping to create environments where people with non-apparent disabilities feel recognized, understood, and supported.
Non-visible disabilities can include autism, ADHD, chronic pain, dementia, anxiety, hearing loss, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, sensory differences, and many other conditions that may not be immediately apparent to others.
