Raising awareness of Autism
Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental difference that shapes how people think, communicate, interact with others, and experience the world. It is often non-apparent, and many of the challenges autistic people face arise from barriers in society, such as environments that are overwhelming, a lack of understanding, or limited flexibility in how people communicate and work.
Globally, an estimated 1 in 100 people are Autistic. Every autistic person is different, with their own strengths, preferences, and ways of experiencing the world. Creating inclusive, understanding environments helps remove barriers and enables autistic people to thrive in workplaces, schools, and public spaces.
At the Sunflower, we’re proud to stand alongside autistic people and the wider community, helping to build greater awareness, understanding and support.

Understanding autism: breaking stigma and building support
To support autism awareness, we hosted a 30-minute educational webinar for Sunflower Corporate and Global Members.
The session explores insights into Autism, which is a condition that affects how a person thinks, feels, interacts with others, and experiences their environment.
The webinar recording is available to Corporate and Global Sunflower Members to watch on demand in your Sunflower account.

World Autism Awareness Day takes place each year on 2 April. While this day plays an important role in raising global awareness, our commitment to supporting autistic people goes beyond a single date. Want to raise awareness across your organization? We’ve created an autism Invisible Disabilities Index entry to build understanding, share lived experiences, and provide guidance on how to remove barriers and offer meaningful support.
