Wrexham AFC is delighted to announce that they have become a member of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower for the 2023/24 season.
Hidden Disabilities Sunflower work with many high-profile organisations, aiming to raise awareness of disabilities and conditions that may not be immediately apparent.
Wrexham AFC staff and stewards have received training in order to raise awareness of invisible disabilities and to give them the support to know how to approach a fan wearing a Sunflower lanyard in order to offer help and assistance if it’s required.
The green lanyard shows discreetly that the wearer has a non-visible disability, while the white ‘I Support’ lanyards, which have been given out to Club Staff and stewards, show their support for the Sunflower and that they fully understand the meaning and feel able to assist.
Staff around the STōK Cae Ras have been offered ‘I Support’ lanyards to indicate they have completed the training and are ready to support Sunflower wearers.

Speaking about joining the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, Evans said:
“We’re extremely proud to become a member of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower at Wrexham AFC.
This enables people who feel they want to show they have a hidden disability the opportunity to do so, and by wearing their lanyard, our staff and stewards are aware that they may need further assistance.
I was delighted with the response from staff and stewards when we undertook the training, they were all very enthusiastic and wanting to be involved and support the Sunflower as much as possible to support those with hidden disabilities."
