ACU is proud to announce the official launch of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program, and to introduce a network of Sunflower Champions who will support individuals with hidden disabilities.
This significant milestone is made possible thanks to the dedication of more than 50 staff members who have volunteered as Sunflower Champions, embodying our commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive campus environment.
Sunflower Champions
Our Sunflower Champions have undergone specialised training to better understand and meet the needs of individuals with hidden disabilities.
These committed staff members are easily recognisable by their distinctive white and green Sunflower Supporter lanyards, symbolising their readiness to offer assistance, understanding, and support.
Sunflower Champions play a crucial role at ACU by:
- Providing extra support and assistance to those wearing the sunflower lanyard.
- Promoting an inclusive and empathetic campus culture.
- Serving as a point of contact for information and support related to hidden disabilities.
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program is a key component of our mission to foster an environment where every individual feels valued, supported, and understood. The enthusiasm and commitment of our Sunflower Champions is invaluable to achieve this goal and we are profoundly grateful for their contributions.
Thank you to ACU for your continued support and commitment to making the University an inclusive environment for all.
