About this experience
Colouring the Spectrum is a series of 90-minute workshops for young autistic adults to develop skills in music-making and creative art to explore images of self and visions for the future. The project will develop creative skills culminating in an exhibition to provide insight for the local community into life with autism.
The program will take place over 8 sessions, in the evenings at the Tuned In Music Therapy studio. Sessions are twice a week, Monday and Wednesday in the first 2 weeks and then one session per week in the final weeks to prepare for the exhibition.
Dates for the program are
- July 4, 6, 11, 13 (MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY FOR 2 WEEKS, 6:30-8PM)
- July 26 (TUESDAY, 6:30-8PM)
- August 2, 16 and 23 (TUESDAYS 6:30PM-8PM)
All materials are provided and as the program is grant-funded, participants can attend free of charge.
The facilitators are Anita Connell, Registered Music Therapist and Marisabel Gonzalez, a well-established Sydney-based artist. Both are passionate about celebrating inclusion, diversity and equality in their local community through creative projects.
