Museums of History NSW joins the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative
Celebrating International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) on 3 December 2025, Museums of History NSW (MHNSW) proudly joins the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative.
Caring for significant historic buildings, sites, gardens and collections across NSW, including the vast State Archives Collection, MHNSW plays a vital role in making history accessible to the community. By joining the Sunflower Program, they are helping ensure all visitors, including people living with hidden disabilities, feel supported and welcome across their museums, events, exhibitions, learning programs, and digital assets.
Annette Pitman, Chief Executive Officer, MHNSW, says:
"At Museums of History NSW we seek to make history accessible to all. We are delighted to support the Hidden Disability Sunflower Program as an important initiative to help all visitors feel welcome in our museums and spaces.”
MHNSW and their Diversity and Inclusion Network (DAIN) have committed to completing Sunflower training and embedding accessibility practices across all properties and programs. This initiative reflects their dedication to building an inclusive environment for every visitor and staff member.
We look forward to seeing the positive impact the Sunflower Program will have across MHNSW’s sites.
