Australian Turf Club Joins the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower

We’re delighted to welcome the Australian Turf Club (ATC) to the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Network, reinforcing its commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming experience across Sydney’s iconic racecourses.

With over 100 race days held annually and crowds of up to 50,000, the sunflower initiative will enhance accessibility and comfort for many visitors. The Sunflower symbol will be prominently displayed across Royal Randwick and Rosehill Gardens racecourses. ATC staff are trained to recognise the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower and provide assistance to guests kindly and respectfully whether offering a quiet space, extra time, or a helping hand, ensuring race days are welcoming for everyone.

Wearing the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower lanyard or pin is voluntary and discreetly signals that a person may need additional support or time due to a hidden disability or condition. This initiative strengthens ATC’s ability to engage respectfully and inclusively with patrons, reflecting its ongoing dedication to accessibility and support across all events.

By joining the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, the ATC becomes part of a global movement and joins many Australian organisations committed to raising awareness and creating inclusive spaces.
